Dear Co-Laborers, family and Friends of Scott Street Baptist Church;

We greet you in the Joy of the Lord! Thank you for the support and prayers that you have already given to this ministry. God is blessing us right now as we live out the promise and vision of the church that Jesus Christ gave His disciples in Matthew 16:18. Jesus said, “upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” When Jesus said “I will build my church,” Jesus had a vision of what His organism (body) would become under Holy Ghost influence. And, when Jesus said, “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it,” He promised a covenant present protection that would allow us to body and confidently execute His work in the world.

Jesus also gave us the power source for this work that has begun in us. Jesus said in Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the utter most part of the earth.”

Jesus had a vision of what the church would become when He said it. It was his legacy. Jesus gave His church the mission of what it was supposed to do in the world. Matthew 28:19-20 says; “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world, AMEN”

Scott Street Baptist Church realizes that most of our church buildings were built for two things: worship (preaching) and eating (fellowship usually amongst ourselves). Notice the size of the two largest rooms in most churches; the sanctuary and the fellowship hall. The world is the way it is because the church has ceased going into it. Therefore, God has given us a vision with a mission that is not detached from His original command. God has given us a vision of what we are to become. Along with the ministry of proclamation, God has elevated our call to Christian duty. God has given us the Family Live Opportunity Center, Inc. (FLOC, INC.) The acronym FLOC defines its mission statement as well as depicts the outcomes, values and spirit of the initiative.

F – to assist families and help them maintain stability in an unstable society
L – to love everyone with God’s unconditional love.
O – to provide opportunity for people to make positive lifestyle changes which may produce more responsible, productive, and meaningful lives.
C – to cultivate and challenge the Divine potential that exists in all human beings.

The Family Life Opportunity Center was given its birth as a non-profit corporation on January 18, 2005. We have the ministry but very little funding. We are not going to build a building just for gathering, but a building for ministry and training. Making disciples is more than just gaining converts. It is more than just church work. It is the work of the church. We are inviting you (members of THE CHURCH) to help us in the grand endeavor. In celebration of the 125th anniversary of our congregation’s existence, we are asking for a gift of $125.00 from 10,000 people. Instead of asking a lot from a few, we are asking a little from many. With all of our friends that we are acquainted with on social media (FACEBOOK, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM, LINKDIN, etc.), this will not be a difficult task. Whatever, God says, I believe it can be done. With your help our vision will be a living reality.

125 from 10,000 is not stated with money in mind, but ministry. All the people you will be helping is what I hope you will have in mind and heart. Instead of sending you some gift for your giving (adding to costs), I would rather send you updates of your giving and how your giving is blessing the Kingdom of God.

Thank you in advance for your gift of $125 (or more). Thank you for your prayers and your offering of God’s love to the world. May God forever Bless and Keep you!

Yours in Christ,

Rev. Garry D. Moore, Sr., B.S., M. Div.
